Well, really I’m the one that’s confusing!! In Ironman training plans, week 1 is usually race week and then they count BACK from there.
So, for example, I have a 20 week plan that I’m going to be following the 5 or so months leading up to the race. So that’ll be weeks 20 to 1. And then my Coach is having me do a mini replicate of those 20 weeks prior to that. So that’ll be weeks 40 to 21. Yet, we’ll take a week break in between the two 20-week plans.
Therefore, week 40 will be the week of November 30 – which is 41 weeks before the race. Ha!
Any way…I guess I’ll count UP to week 11 and then I’ll count down from week 40, with one mystery week in there with no number.
Makes total sense, right??! Good!

These weeks are going to fly! Remember when you were pregnant and with the first child, you looked in the book each week to see if the baby was the size of a pistachio or a lemon? And then kid two came along – and all you knew was that the baby was in there and you were hungry for a pistachio cookie or a lemon square? That’s how I found training for an Ironman. In the beginning, I was so focused on the weeks, and then it started moving like a freight train and I just hung on! How exciting this is all going to be! Can’t wait to see your journey.

Ha! Love that perspective/analogy. Okay!! I know I’m in for some kind of a wild ride. I just hope the weeks don’t start flying by until I know how to swim, quite a bit better. 🙂
You know I’m going to want to pick your brain more along the way, right??!
