Audaciously...I'm thinking, "YES!"

Month 2 Assessment

November 21, 2015 by Amy Riley 1 Comment

I’m late with my Month 2 assessment! I’m 2 weeks into the next month and just getting this delineated. Well, I’m underway with some of these goals and should be able to get the other ones done in the remaining weeks.

It feels good to be intentional about the progress I want to make in the workouts and to identify progress I want to achieve outside of the training itself.

Here’s progress from Month 2 and goals for Month 3…

Month 2 goals / progress Month 3 goals
strength 2xs/week / 3 out of 4 weeks

swim skills:

  • arms, use less energy / improvement!
  • kick / improvement!
  • breathing, try every 5 or 7 strokes (what!!?) / can do a pool length of breathing every 5 strokes twice during a swim session, haven’t tried 7!

get cycling gear / got everything on initial list except a snack pouch (it’s on a Christmas list) and a bike trainer

create a regular routine of stretching and foam rolling / doing more, need to add in a bit more

keep volume up / good!

swim endurance and skills

get a bike trainer

stretching:

  • active stretching and core before workouts
  • light stretching after workouts

buy new bike pedals

get organized for nutrition:

  • identify high protein, low carb (close to 1:1 ratio) foods
  • stock easy to snack/eat foods

I type this out and it looks good. Yet, I can’t help the immediate rise of up anxious energy in me that wants to know, “Is it enough?!”
