Here's how this past week has gone! Sunday - Half hour swim. Had an insight: Breathe when you need to. I was thinking about it: I get short of breath during running all the time. It doesn't throw me into a totally tizzy. I just breathe more heavily, more shallow, whatever I need to. Hmmm, could I do this in swimming? Well, obviously, it's not as flexible. But why do I have to consider it a failure if I breathe every Continue Reading
7 weeks in & I need ideas to calm down in the pool
This week didn't go as planned! (How often will I be saying that??!) Sunday - Half hour swim. = 1/2 hour Monday - Went with my Mom to her post-op appointment in the afternoon (everything is healing well!), so I started my morning early! Did a trifecta class at 6am. This week, I started a 4-week plan to prepare for a 10 mile (running) race on November 14 (my birthday!). So... a little more focus on running this week, which is bringing the overall volume down. Even though volume was down, this week did NOT feel easier. Here's why... Sunday - Half hour swim. I'm trying to take less of a breather at the end of each length of the pool. Sometimes I even get to the end of the pool and Continue Reading
