Week 21 – last week of training before 1st tri
This week could be summed up: Fast running. Hard biking. Anxious swimming. How to become a faster runner? I guess focus on swimming and biking. Sunday - I was to do a 45-minute bike ride. I didn't do it because 1) my husband left town in the morning and 2) and probably more importantly, I was feeling tired from the 7-hour charity bar crawl the day before! Week 22 – headaches
After feeling drained emotionally last week, this week I experienced physical symptoms. Headaches every day through Wednesday. Had to take 2 migraine pills in that time. My husband was out of town, so I just immediately took the pills when I felt a migraine coming on. I took no chances and didn't entertain any thoughts of trying to "gut" it out. Week 23… slammed by grief
Emotionally slammed by grief this week. Didn't see this coming. Yet, as I reflect back, I'm sensing that I really miss the way my Dad would listen to me with his whole being, without judgment, and with unconditional support. I've had some misfires with communication in my extended family recently, and perhaps that made me acutely aware of what I've been missing. Love you Dad.
