I'm late with my Month 2 assessment! I'm 2 weeks into the next month and just getting this delineated. Well, I'm underway with some of these goals and should be able to get the other ones done in the remaining weeks. Progress in the Pool!
Did a swim session today. I was renewed and ready to push myself again. I completed my 750m of drills in 36 minutes, while keeping to bilateral breathing!!! (and not sneaking in breaths on every arm stroke) Last week, to complete the drills in 36 or 37 minutes, I slipped into breathing every arm stroke a few times. Not today! Notable progress. Week 9 & thinking about a streak
So this week I've had a quite a few people ask me how training is going. I've replied, "If you could glimpse inside my head, you'd think I was training for a 2.4 mile swim event! Nothing more!" It's what I think about the most. It's what I worry about the most. I know it's the shortest part of the race, but if I don't get it done, I don't get the Ironman done. 8th week into the journey
Here's how this past week has gone! Sunday - Half hour swim. Had an insight: Breathe when you need to. I was thinking about it: I get short of breath during running all the time. It doesn't throw me into a totally tizzy. I just breathe more heavily, more shallow, whatever I need to. Hmmm, could I do this in swimming? Well, obviously, it's not as flexible.
